Hi Everyone
I hope we are all going well with the Week 9 Work Packages. I can see most of us are using our Studyladder accounts, which is fantastic to see!
Mr Honey has uploaded the Music Work Package to his class blog for this week. You can access it through the Music blog and then through the Work Packages link on the page.
Thank you,

From the Teacher Term 1 Week 8
From the Teacher
I would firstly like to say that I hope everyone is keeping
well at this time that we are all getting through together. Some strategies put
into place in regards to the Covid19 for Room 19:
- Student desks and chairs disinfected throughout the day
- Conducting ongoing explicit teaching of hand washing and hygiene
- Hand washing before Recess and Lunch
- Social distancing as much as possible in our classroom. Students are now sitting 2 or 3 to a group and sitting arms-length away from one another when sitting on the mat
- Encouraging all students to not touch their face with their hands or get close to other students during class and play time
The Minister of Education has announced the website:
https://www.education.wa.edu.au/learning-at-home
for parents to use if they are keeping their children at home.

Now for some
positives, which I think we all need at this time!
What’s been happening in Room 19…
We have had plenty of exciting learning opportunities this
term! It has been so fantastic to see everyone improving as each week passes
by. I have noticed a significant improvement in our social skills, handwriting,
spelling, Mental Maths and Reading. Well done and keep up the excellent work!
3D Nets
The students had to
cut and glue together nets of shapes to create their 3D object.
Making Halves and Quarters of
Shapes
We learnt how to write
the fractions ‘half’ and 'quarter' and to represent it with pictures.
Verb Hunt!
Students chose a book
that they have been reading to find as many verbs as they could in the text.
Harder than we thought!
Science- Properties of Materials
We went on an exploration around the Year 2 playground to find different materials that the playground is made from. We discussed why certain materials are used over others.
Goal Setting
We have our goals for Term 1 on display in the classroom and have been
tracking them throughout Term 1.
Our last assembly was cancelled to due to social distancing,
however, Room 19 received their well-deserved Music Award from Mr Honey!
Mr Honey commented: Room
19 have been working tremendously hard when rehearsing and performing their
song ‘Terracotta Pot’! Well done!
Merit
Certificates:
Congratulations to Holly and Sarah for earning a Merit
Certificate! You have both shown excellent attitudes and progress. Amazing
efforts!
Thank you all for taking time to read our blog. I will keep
you updated on any updates received.
Kind regards
Mrs Domenica Fitzpatrick

From the Teacher Week 4 Term 1
From the Teacher
The first few weeks of Term One have been fantastic in Room
19! It has been so pleasing to see all students settling into our class
routines so quickly. I have been extremely pleased with the students’ manners
and willingness to learn. The effort each and every student has put into their
learning so far has been amazing to see! Here are some photos of our class in
action.

- Early close is at 2.30pm every Tuesday.
Room 19 and 21's Assembly
We started the year off with hosting the first Junior
Assembly in Week 3 with a theme on ‘Australia’. It was fantastic to see all the
students making an effort to dress up in Australia-themed colours. Room 19 and
21 did a fantastic job at presenting the assembly. Everyone enjoyed the songs
and all students spoke their lines clearly. Miss Lamb and I were so impressed
with our classroom’s efforts! Big congratulations to all of Room 19 and 21!
